Since condition is so important on those coins, the first thing you might wish to do is get a reference book of some sort. I found out quickly that it is very easy to pay way too much if you don’t know something about grading coins.
After that, check out what is for sale on eBay. Watching what other people pay for coins will give you an idea of what you should pay.
I don’t have any for sale, but I can answer specific questions about other coins you may see for sale. You can contact me by clicking on my avatar.

I have some old coins that are really looking their ages. Back when I was in elementary school, they had taught us how to clean up pennies, but that’s been a while and I forgot. Help?
Thanks.
Chosen Answer:
Before you clean old coins, get them looked at by a dealer. Some coins lose value from getting cleaned.

yes, that was a very limited edition coin. I myself being a coin collector say you should go to a card store or coin shop. Im not sure that any websites have it, but try littleton.com.
good luck finding one.

I’m looking for a site where I can purchase the small metal (usually aluminum) coins to sew onto tribal belly dance costumes. I live in a small town so there is no fashion district or anything like that even close to where I am. But I’m looking to buy thousands at wholesale bulk rates. If you know of anywhere please let me know.

Spotted this immediately on the supplies list at http://www.costumes.org

I’d suggest you might want to poke around in some of the other links:

Usually they are sold in packs of 100. However if you buying from a company (not off ebay -although I occasionally have run across large quantities at a good price) then contact them and ask if they are willing to give a bulk discount and how many you would have to order to get that discount. You could also ask them if they would be willing to share their distributors information if they do not offer bulk discounts (however many businesses do not want to share that sort of information since that makes you possible competition with their own product offerings. Here’s a couple of sites that sell that type of coin:
http://www.moondancebellydance.com/coins.htm
http://www.costlesscostumes.com/COINS.html
http://www.zarifas.com/100pc_Belly_Dance_Coins
http://www.thebellydanceshop.com/products.php?id=22
here is another e-bay search using slightly different keywords
http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=bellydance+coins+-scarf+-hipscarf+-skirt&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_odkw=bellydance+coins+-scarf&_osacat=0
http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=tribal%20coins%20-scarf%20-belt%20-bra&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A2122&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_pgn=1
sometimes slightly different keywords return different results on ebay

It depends on the coin condition. There are many books on grading coins which you could find at your local library, and many online price guides for collectible coins:

My dad has a big coin collection and i don’t know anything about coins. I want to get something that will add to his collection for a gift. I was looking at ebay but i have no clue whats good and whats bad. Could someone struggle a suggestion on what to buy. I would like to buy off ebay and something under 100. Just give me some links.
Chosen Answer:
its unlikely you get ripped off if you go to a local dealers, i have found some by just looking on google and google maps. what i did was just punch in coin and the place i live. if no luck just google it, your bound to find some. I got some dealers hear where i live and some are really cheap coins too. The kind of coins they sell are international coins, China, Russia, German, Mexico ect… so maybe you can look local dealer instead fo online like Ebay.

My aunt inherited my grandmothers coin collection and she wants to know what each coin is worth.
Chosen Answer:
She can do it the easy way and take them to a few dealers and see what they say. Or she can do it the hard way, like those of us you’re asking, and spend the time, like we did, and still do, looking up each one in books like the yearly Guidebook to US coins by R. Yeoman (copies at most libraries). She will need to learn how to assess the condition of each coin, as that is the biggest factor in determining value. Then, once she knows the condition and the value the book gives, she can start looking at eBay sold results for the same coin in the same grade, to see how close to ‘book’ value they are actually selling for. Most of them don’t even come close, and for low-value coins, you won’t see them on eBay, or anywhere else. Certain high-value coins sell for more money through other venues than eBay. If she puts in the time to learn, like we did, she’ll find those other places easily enough.
If she cares about what your grandmother spent years putting together, she’ll do it. If she doesn’t and is only thinking dollar signs, start hitting the dealers.

I unearthed some George 111 coins dated 17?? in my garden, plus a rather strange creepy looking object…
No billy,I think they are half pennies, nothing very exciting….Not sure what the weird figure object is though.

Hope this helps Karen, Most of the advice is not to clean old coins at all. But if you must…..
Copper coins tend to look worse after being cleaned and are more easily ruined than gold or silver coins. When absolutely necessary, clean dirty, green crusted, badly corroded copper coins without scrubbing them. Try soaking them in grape oil (or olive oil if grape oil is not available).
